Hyundai recently announced the introduction of its 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with a new design motif, advanced front and rear lighting signatures, new hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive and plenty of new driver safety and convenience features. New front and rear bumper fascia, grille, headlamp, tail lamp and LED lighting signatures are some of its exterior updates. Also, the new and upscale Calligraphy trim will be offered for the first time. Comfort and confidence were especially important in the new Santa Fe. You’ll find an all-out stunning design inside and out, tech that keeps you in touch and on top of things, and safety features to give you peace of mind. In addition, a Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid model will arrive later in 2021.

The bold new look of the Santa Fe is striking. It is updated with a wider, three-dimensional grille and a striking T-shaped LED illumination signature, including daytime running lights. The new look sports a horizontal cabin profile, scalloped lower door panels and a long, highly-defined hood with character lines extending from front to rear. The profile of the Santa Fe features a large daylight opening (DLO) with a satin surround that provides a sleek look with great visibility. The alloy wheels receive all new designs and add a new 20-inch alloy wheel. The roof side rails have a fresh design as well, and power-folding side mirrors with turn-signal indicators and puddle lamps are now available.

Performance Highlights

The 2021 Santa Fe has three engines to choose from. Gone are the 2.4-liter and turbocharged 2.0-liter. For 2021, the base engine is a 191-hp, 182-lb-ft 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine with the carryover eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also step up to the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 277 hp and 311 lb-ft and is mated to a new wet dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission. The family welcomes a hybrid that pairs an electric motor with a 175-hp, 195-lb-ft 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine for a total output of 225 hp. It is mated to a next-generation six-speed automatic transmission unique to the hybrid. A plug-in hybrid will follow in late 2021 likely for the 2022 model year.

Santa Fe Calligraphy Top Trim

There are four trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy, which is the new top trim level. With quilted Nappa leather and other high-end materials and amenities, Hyundai uses the Calligraphy to help differentiate te Santa Fe from other competitors in its class.

The hybrid comes in SEL or Limited trim only. The 2.5-liter turbo is introduced at the Limited level. All-wheel drive is available on all trims and is standard on the hybrids and Calligraphy, which also has a Class III tow hitch with a seven-pin connector. On the hybrids, the motor is in the front and there is a mechanical AWD system for power to the rear wheels.
